Conscious Competence Learning Model

I learnt this from the practice of The Professional and Reflective Practitioner and it is quite helpful when reflecting on certain skills / competencies that one would like to improve. However, in order to practice this, one must be open to feedback and reflect  about skills to progress in the learning proces s  (Rusconi, 2024) . Learning is a practice that should always be happening in our minds. (Wikipedia, 2024) Unconscious incompetence: Unaware of what we can’t do and don’t know E.g.: There was a time when I didn't know that what I say tend to hurt people. Conscious incompetence: Become aware of our development needs and start to do something about it. E.g.: About 9 years ago, I found out about it and looked for a way to stop hurting people. I tried not to talk if I had nothing good to say. I ended up being really quiet for a long time and became a total alien to myself. I then looked for ways to speak with more edifying words. Making simple compliments that were true. ...
